Located in the sprawling Raadhuisstraat hotel complex, the tiny Hotel de Westertoren provides eight basic rooms at Cheapo rates.
Yes, the Hotel de Westertoren could use some fresh carpet, new wallpaper and an elevator. But, at least the rooms are clean and comfortable, if a bit small. It feels like staying at grandma's house and that ain't a bad feeling.
Rooms at the Hotel de Westertoren come with a television, minibar and everything you need to make coffee and tea. All are equipped with a private shower, but some share the toilets in the hall.
The Westertoren is located a block from the Anne Frank House, a real plus for beating the early morning lines.
Breakfast, which is brought to your room, is included in the room rate. Wi-Fi is free throughout. Note that the hotel has no elevator and steep stairs.

Grachtengordel West is an expansive area in the center of town, near the Dam and the Old Center. It's also home to gorgeous 17th-century canal houses, Westermarkt, the Homomonument, the Westerkerk (Amsterdam's grandest church and the final resting place of Rembrandt) and Anne Frank's House.
