Achilleas is part of a small Athenian hotel chain that also includes Hotel Arion, Hotel Hermes, and Hotel Plaka. Each hotel provides mid-range beds in comfortable, beyond adequate settings. Achilles is in a dependable spot and is a short distance from Plaka's heavy action.
The hotel sports a splashed-out lobby with checkerboard marble floors, a small television corner lounge, huge reproductions of photographs of the 2004 Olympics, and cute curios such as an antique typewriter.
The Achilleas's 36 comfortable rooms are more business class than basic, with no stylistic thrills. Furnishings are angular and ordered. Desks, televisions, beds, and mirror placement all correspond to a primly organized vision of how hotel rooms should look.
Families, middle-aged guests, and seniors are the most typical guests at Achilleas. The clientele base also includes lots of groups and big numbers of Australians and Americans.

About the Achilleas (Achilles) neighborhood
Plaka is the heart of tourist Athens. Its dense, atmospheric alleys are packed with tavernas, tourist traps, and gorgeous ancient structures. Adrianou is the main strip, but the highly touristed nature of Plaka permeates most corners of the neighborhood. While its main characteristic is its tourist-oriented nature, those committed to hunting around will find a comfortable few blocks of stylish cafés, specialty shops, and government buildings tucked in between the tourist shops, churches, and ancient sites. Plaka is closest to the Syntagma metro station, which is located beneath Syntagma Square.
