The cash-only Hotel Adonis is situated on one of the quietest pedestrian streets in Plaka, one of Athens' oldest and quaintest neighborhoods.
Its 26 rooms, like the location, are “quiet” in terms of décor. Rooms are furnished with simple with light wood beds, chairs, and desks. Walls are painted a soft yellow, and curtains come in burnt orange. The overall feeling is one of uncomplicated comfort.
Bathrooms are en suite with an aesthetic identical to the bedrooms: simple, clean, and unpretentious. Balconies accompany every room in the hotel. Those on the fourth and fifth floors offer spectacular views of the Acropolis.
The Adonis serves breakfast on the rooftop. So you can nosh on all kinds of delicious and healthy foods while gaping at the magnificent Acropolis. There's also a bar-lounge up there. At night (and even when it's raining), you can enjoy the same view.

About the Hotel Adonis neighborhood
Plaka is the heart of tourist Athens. Its dense, atmospheric alleys are packed with tavernas, tourist traps, and gorgeous ancient structures. Adrianou is the main strip, but the highly touristed nature of Plaka permeates most corners of the neighborhood. While its main characteristic is its tourist-oriented nature, those committed to hunting around will find a comfortable few blocks of stylish cafés, specialty shops, and government buildings tucked in between the tourist shops, churches, and ancient sites. Plaka is closest to the Syntagma metro station, which is located beneath Syntagma Square.
