EastSeven is a hip hostel offering 60 beds and a relaxed, friendly vibe. Nestled in a restored townhouse on the Mitte/Prenzlauer Berg border, the hostel boasts a laid back staff, regular group dinners, and cozy public spaces. Add free coupons, free city tours, and the staff's insider tips, and you’ll feel like a Berliner by the end of your stay.
Hallways accented with panels of groovy wallpaper lead to small-scale dorms, private rooms, and a two-bedroom apartment. Colorful, sponge-painted walls add a retro spin to the well-designed and comfortable rooms. Round mirrors, big closets, bedside tables, vintage chairs, and small throw rugs complete the look. Attic rooms with sloped walls are particularly attractive.
Bold murals in chartreuse, brown, and orange add plenty of color to the high-tech lounge lined with sleek leather couches. Relax with a book from the hostel’s mini-library in the hall, or surf the Web.
The group kitchen adjoining the lounge is our favorite room, with its chef-size stove and big counter top table. Pierre and Jörg, the EastSeven's owner's, prepare a free meal for guests every Monday. In summer, the action moves to the outdoor patio and garden, where the staff and guests mix and mingle over Wurst, commune-style.

About the EastSeven Berlin Hostel neighborhood
Once the heart of East Berlin, Mitte was the former East Germany's showcase hood. With the grand Unter den Linden boulevard running right through it, Mitte's grand buildings, government offices (including the awe-inspiring Reichstag), major museums, embassies, and side streets are undeniably majestic. On the north side of Mitte, cool shops and night spots lure visitors both day and night.
