A charming brick guesthouse situated in a Kreuzberg courtyard, the Freiraum Wohnagentur & Gästehaus offers bare-basic, quiet rooms at very low prices. With its seemingly hidden location and ivy-covered walls, the guesthouse seemed almost enchanted to us. In fact, the nine-room Freiraum is so cute that we've developed a crush on it. Really? Look at it! Adorable!
Rooms are clean and well cared for, if starkly simple and light on the amenities (no television, no telephone, and certainly no minibar). Every room shared a bath with one other room, and the top floor features a lovely €60 apartment with a slanted ceiling, a private kitchen, and bath.
The Freiraum's storefront reception also runs an apartment rental service for tourists who want accommodation for longer stays (from one month up to a year). Prices are very reasonable. Call the office for more details.
