Hotel Charlot is a very quiet little hotel on a calm Charlottenburg boulevard several minutes north of the Ku'Damm by foot. Those favoring rose-tinted glasses might want to leave their shades at home. Checking into the Hotel Charlot, with its preponderance of pink carpets and floral print furniture, might overwhelm to the point of distress.
During our visit, we got the impression that Hotel Charlot is visited chiefly by the retired set. Rooms are simple and relatively unremarkable. More interesting is the hotel's architecture, as the Charlot is housed in a beautiful Jugendstil building with a shallow, arched front court (itself an historical landmark.)
