Hotel-Pension Charlottenburg is one of a number of clean, modern and appealing pensions in spitting distance of the Ku'Damm. Despite location, it is a quiet establishment, catering to families and a younger budget-minded crowd.
Its 19 rooms have a retro modernist vibe, with some rooms facing a deep courtyard and others facing the street. Rooms are cobbled together with a haphazard driving impulse: reproductions of flower still lifes on the wall, classic 1960s headboards, even hypermodern chairs, reminiscent of Italy circa 1970. The effect is charming, if a bit random.
