Budapest: Zoo Season

Spring has finally arrived and cities throughout the European continent are bracing for the tourism season to finally start. Where do locals go when tourists arrive? As a friend of ours once pointed out, they go to zoos.
On the subject of zoos, the Budapest Zoo is celebrating its 140th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the zoo is leading with a series of events, including the unveiling of two new aviaries.
According to Head Veterinarian Dr. Endre Sós, the zoo will open a new exhibit later this month mainly housing animals from South East Asia. Currently on display: their one month old two-toed sloth. Although the zoo’s baby rhino—unofficially nicknamed Nati (naughty in English)—can only be viewed through the rhino cam, she too, will go on public viewing in mid-March.
