Cheap Bed Alert: Litinterp
Litinterp is a one-of-a-kind business. It’s not just a string of hotels across Lithuania, but also a translation service and car rental company. Ahh, those enterprising Balts!
Litinterp runs guesthouses in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipeda as well as apartments in Vilnius, Klaipeda, and Nida.
After a three-night stay at Litinterp’s Vilnius guesthouse, we can’t say enough about the place. Very simple rooms are appealing and spotless. A guest kitchen, reading library, and articulate multilingual hosts are the icing on the cake. And then there are the nightly rates. During the winter season, singles with shared bathrooms run LTL70 (€20; $26); doubles with private bathrooms set guests back LTL140 (€40; $53). Summer rates are about 10% higher.
Also notable is the Litinterp breakfast. Guests tick breakfast items off a form, and breakfast appears on a tray outside room doors at the guest-selected time. Our bread, egg, and cheese provided a downright proper start to frigid Vilnius mornings.
When EuroCheapo gets around to Vilnius hotel listings, you can rest assured that Litinterp will be an editor’s pick.
