We’ve been noticing a glut of articles and press releases in the trades about the cruise industry’s resurgence, on the one hand, and the creative pursuits of first time cruisers, on the other.

While, admittedly, this Cheapo would have a full fledged panic attack trying to sleep in a vessel at sea with 1,500 other passengers, some of the companies leading the way do seem interesting.

Whet Travel promises travelers non-stop dance parties ’til sunrise, a set-up that strikes us as equal parts interminable nightmare and ridiculous fun. On the budget tip, easyCruise is Stelios’ attempt to do for cruises what his easyJet did for no-frills air travel.
