Paging Tom Hanks: You’re Needed In Florence

Posted in: News

We sure were delighted to open this morning’s New York Times to find a story about Maurizio Seracini. Dan Brown Watchers (DBWs) will note that Mr. Seracini is the only person mentioned by his real name in “The Da Vinci Code.”

Apparently good ol’ Maurizio has more than a hunch that he knows where Leonardo’s “The Battle of Anghiari” has been hiding the past couple hundred years. Hint: it’s stashed behind a 500 year old wall at the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.

Not one to be restrained by half a millennium of mystery or occasional governmental obstruction, Mr. Seracini is now building a machine that can see through walls to prove his hypothesis.

All this spooky talk has us panicked, even hankering for a comic send-up of the Da Vinci Code. This irresistable riotfest would definitely do the trick.
