One of the perks of sleepy summertime Paris is the reduction in traffic and pollution, giving pedestrians room to breathe and space to stroll and allowing for more leisurely bike riding and rollerblading.

You certainly do not need a car to get around the city. But if you plan to use a car in Paris until the end of August, note that 90% of Paris parking spots are free.

How can you tell if the parking is free?

Look for a yellow dot on the blue parking meter.

Use this handy online tool that allows you to search by road or arrondissement for free parking spaces.
