Don’t let it be said that the people have no voice. After numerous press reports (including our own from May 22nd) on the negative developments for the popular Sunday open-air Bearpit Karaoke event in Berlin’s Mauerpark, Pankow’s elected officials took note and changed their tune.
Karaoke fans and stars will now be guaranteed their Sunday afternoon spot on the stage—so long as the sun is shining.
When making your plans, remember that the fun runs Sundays from 3-7 p.m., though those who’d like a good seat would be smart to show up earlier and relax with a beer from one of the nearby touts.
Stay on top of changes: Bearpit Karaoke’s organizer Joe Hatchiban posts public notifications of event cancellations due to weather or vacation on the Sonntags Karaoke in Mauerpark Facebook page. This is also a good place to check the start and end dates of the outdoor karaoke season.
