We’ll randomly select 25 lucky finalists on April 15th, 2013. If you’re selected, we’ll contact you (through the email address you’ve entered) and ask you to answer one simple question: “Why do you want to visit Berlin?”

You can answer it anyway you want… One sentence. Or a story. Or a picture. Maybe a video? Go nuts and interpret as you wish, it’s entirely up to you. But the better the reason, the more likely it is you’ll win! Submissions will be posted here on the blog.

And the winner is…

One winner will be selected by our star-studded cast of travel judges, including Johnny Jet, Nomadic Matt, Gadling.com’s Grant Martin and EuroCheapo’s editor Tom Meyers.

On May 15, 2013 we’ll announce the grand prize winner on our blog, and send you on your way!

I would love to get to Berlin ans visit all the old museums including Nofrete, Tha Taschketische Teestube and heaps of other place I have visited about 20 years ago.
Also would love to get inspired with Berlin Flair and atmosphaere!

  2. US army, stationed in Stuttgart 1980’s. Traveled to Berlin during that time to visit family that were lucky enough to be stationed in Berlin. We had to have special travel papers and the driving trip from west through east had to be completed within a specific time frame or else??!!

West Berlin was then.. and im sure is even more so now that there is reunification.. a wonderful cosmopolitan city with something for everyone. Going from west to east at that time however was like night and day.. went from having everything to having nothing.. it was so brutally depressed.

So, having said that.. i would love to make the trip now to experience the freedom to be able to travel without restriction from former west to former east.

  3. People say that “the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” I´m pretty sure that Berlin must be a whole chapter of this book and I would love to discover it!!! <3

  4. Love EUROCHEAPO’s tips!

I wanna discover Berlin as much as I can and as cheap as it can be!

  5. Germany is one of the most modern city in the world. and Berlin has great historic places and deep culture. It is my dream to see these great places.

  6. Berlin is a great historical and very intresting city with a great traditional culture.I want to visit once in life time to understand earlier communist ( rule ) and now democratic.

what made this great transformation.Berlin great wall now dismantled i want to pay homage if possible to all those who lost their lives in great war.I intend visiting small scale industries which are way ahead technically and bring them to my country. This will help both countries to great extent.

Germany and india are great partners in all spheres of business / culture and definately travel all over your beautiful country with wife.

  8. Yes, Berlin is great, tons of history and culture and reasonable prices. The Ibis Hotel you recommend is in a nice area, but I prefer the nearby Holiday Inn on Prenzlauer Allee. The Holiday Inn on Stressemann Strasse is also a good budget bet–you can see the overgrown outer fortifications of the Wall right in front. I liked the old Forum Hotel on the Alex when I stayed there too–not sure of its new name.
The former East Berlin is, I believe, generally more interesting than the western part of the city. (But then, I’m a Cold War buff.)
