A Jewish "penzion" located just outside of the Old Town, Chez David has eight clean and simple rooms. Neither swank nor stunning, Chez David is nonetheless a good value and an exceptionally friendly spot.
While fairly basic, rooms are also spunky. Furniture is quite unremarkable, but hardwood floors and the alternating white and wood walls are attractive. We especially like the Marimekko-knock off modernism of the floral curtains. Bathrooms are unremarkably fine; tight corner showers have arced shower doors. Constructed largely of white tiles, they almost glow. Beyond the rooms, the atrium lounge on the ground floor is a notably fine place to relax after a day of exploration.
Chez David is a hotel for those interested in steeping a bit in local Jewish culture. Note that the restaurant is "Israeli style" (there's no pork on the menu) but not Kosher. The location is another selling point, two minutes from the labyrinthine alleys of Staré Mesto. It's also a jump from Slovakia's Jewish Museum.
