Tucked behind St. Salvator’s Church, about five blocks west of Markt Square, the Bonobo Apart Hotel provides 10 non-smoking apartment-style suites at surprisingly reasonable rates. In contrast to most hotels in Bruges, the Bonobo doesn’t aim to charm you with classic Flemish style. However, it will win you over with its spacious, functional and convenient suites.

All 10 suites at the Bonobo are fully equipped with kitchens, dining area, living room with sofa and TV, bedroom and bathroom. The décor is simple, with white tiled floors and modern furniture. The management lets the guest decide whether to rent the suite as an apartment or a hotel-style suite.

If you opt for an apartment, you have full access to your kitchen and prices are cheaper. Breakfast, however, isn’t included, and the room is cleaned once a week. If you choose “hotel-style,” the kitchen is locked up and the rate is more expensive, but the rooms are cleaned daily and breakfast is included (served in the backyard garden, in season).

If these aren’t enough options for you, Bonobo also offers three sizes of suites, the “large” accommodates one to three, the “XL” two to four, and “XXL,” four to six. (You will be quizzed on all of this later today.) We were struck by the size of the suites; even the smallest provides ample room.
