The Europ Hotel is an old-fashioned, budget-friendly place. Conveniently situated along a canal a few blocks south of St. Gilles church, it’s in a prime location, too. Although parts of the hotel seem a bit faded, you might overlook that, as the rates are usually quite reasonable.
The Europ’s 28 rooms are equipped with cable TV, telephone and some antique dressers and wardrobes. Bathrooms provide a shower and have not recently been renovated. Half of the rooms face the hotel’s courtyard (or a wall), while the other rooms face a side street or offer canal views (and are more expensive).
Downstairs, breakfast is served in a breakfast room that overlooks a canal. It also doubles as a lounge at night. A friendly family runs the hotel.

Located across the canal, just north of Markt Square, St. Gilles provides a calm escape from the traffic and tourists in Bruges' center and is named after St. Gilles Church. We recommend several hotels on or near St. Gilles Square, as they represent good values and are blessed with a tranquil location.
