Situated on a quiet street in west-central Bruges, the Goezeput is a 15-room B&B, housed in a converted monastery.
Downstairs, the reception and lounge (which doubles as a breakfast room), have a streak of modern décor, with dark wood furnishing, a streamlined gas fireplace, smart sofas and inset bookshelves. A long bar, open in the evenings, gives the room some chic appeal.
Up the gorgeous staircase, the Goezeput’s non-smoking rooms mix some classical Flemish elements (tall windows, wood-beamed ceilings on the highest floor) with boutique-hotel furniture and trimmings. The result is very attractive: The rooms are minimal, and often quite modern.
Windows are not soundproof and the street can be a bit noisy (at least during the day), so you might ask for a room facing the courtyard.
The hotel is a five-minute walk west of Markt Square, just behind St. Salvatore’s church.
