St Christophers Bauhaus Hostel

St. Christopher's Bauhaus Hostel is a colorful hostel for all ages, situated in converted stable houses on the Langestraat, near the eastern edge of the old town. The hostel offers dorm rooms, private rooms and a few apartments.

The dorm rooms accommodate four to eight people, and are simple affairs with metal-framed bunk beds and sinks (linens included). Private rooms with twin beds are also no-frills, furnished simply with a bed and shower (the private rooms share toilets in the hallway with the dorms). There are no TVs or phones in these private rooms, but man are they cheap!

The St. Christopher's also rents out private apartments upstairs with full kitchen, TV, telephone and CD players. The apartments accommodate up to six guests, and require a minimum star of two nights.

Downstairs, the St. Christopher’s dark, wood-paneled bar gets crowded and smoky at night, when locals and guests pack in to listen to live music and drink one of 50 beers on tap. The hostel also runs the adjacent "Sacre Coeur" restaurant, featuring yummy (and cheap) pizzas, salads and beer—they obviously know their market.

The hostel is a part of the St. Christopher’s group of hostels, which touts the slogan, "Party hard, sleep easy." The group runs other hostels in Amsterdam, Berlin, Edinburgh, London, and Paris.
