The one-star Rembrandt Hotel is a tastefully understated masterpiece. Located just steps from Avenue Louise, this quiet bed and breakfast offers 12 immaculate rooms full of both character and comfort.
In the cozy guest rooms, antique furniture complements the floral wallpaper and pastoral paintings. Rooms are on the simple side: Some lack television, and en suite bathrooms tend to be small. Some rooms only contain a shower, which oddly enough has nothing but a flimsy shower curtain separating it from the room. Communal toilets, for those rooms with showers only, are clean and cute (think even more floral print), but tiny.
From the quiet classical music playing at reception to the reproductions of the Dutch painter’s works, the Rembrandt’s small details make this inn an elegant home away from home. Gentle and amiable owner Jean-Christophe lives in the same building, and has done an excellent job creating a homey ambiance. The hotel has been a family business for 23 years, and his mother, the original proprietress, still helps out with the daily operation.
The dining room does not venture away from the hotel’s quiet charm. Guests can enjoy free breakfast under a modest chandelier, or peruse newspapers by the mahogany hutch displaying lovely tea services and plates.

About the Rembrandt neighborhood
Eclectic Ixelles has everything it needs to be a microcosm of all that is Brussels. The neighborhood is divided by the lovely Avenue Louise, the "Rodeo Drive" of Brussels, which is packed with boutiques, art galleries and restaurants. During the day, it’s abuzz with traffic and trams, but the area becomes much quieter at night.
