Situated across the street from the Bourse and a few steps from the Grand Place, Hotel Matignon is a lovely 3-star charmer, offering 37 rooms at decent rates. While most of the hotel dates to the 19th Century, the Matignon's façade is from the Middle Ages.
Rooms are fairly modern and have a beach-y vibe. Some rooms go the yellow route while others are pretty in pink. Many light up with cherry wood dressers and desks. Rooms have plasma televisions and mini-bars. Bathrooms are shiny and spotless, with coral-colored tiles and many have large bathtubs. Exterior rooms have the best views of the old Bourse building across the street, but can get noisy. Lean your head to the left and you can peek at the Grand Place. A few top floor chambers benefit from skylights.
If you get hungry, head downstairs to the Matignon's bistro, a quaint little place that serves a Brussels' mainstay, steamed mussels.
