Situated on a quiet street on the south side of central Pest, the mood of the Hotel Thomas is perky in every way. The hotel's 43 rooms are outfitted in bright color schemes and staff members are friendly.
The available singles and doubles feature tables with psychedelic-inspired tops and bluish-purple curtains with patterns reminiscent of the Impressionist art movement. The contrasting patterns work surprisingly well together. They create a mod, 1950s atmosphere.
Colorful framed reproductions add life to freshly-painted white walls. Steel-gray bed frames and desk sets are made of vinyl-covered balsa wood. Some windows jut out from the building façade while small balconies are available off some rooms. Both allow 180-degree views of quaint Liliom utca below.
Breakfast is included in the nightly rate, and is served in the hotel's on-site Oliva Mediterranean restaurant. We imagine the restaurant's yellow walls and red tables provide a bright setting for the start of an active touring day.
