Right on Kossuth Lajos utca in the central Pest neighborhood of Belváros, the Leo Panzió's rates and classier-than-average atmosphere make it a true Cheapo find.
The Leo Panzió sits on the third floor of a turn-of-the-last-century building. Maroon and dark blue furnishings with gold trim are over-the-top, but still relatively attractive. Windows treatments are a full package of curtains, drapes, and valences. Some rooms have a sweet view of the Franciscan Church across the street. Rooms facing the street are surprisingly quiet.
The color scheme is carried over downstairs in the breakfast room. Dining tables are dolled up with simple white linens and fancier silver trays full of fixings. Add this to floor-to-ceiling windows and the effect is more four-star than two.
Prospective visitors without a sense of direction should still be able to find their way to the Leo Panzió. Signs posted on light posts and concrete walls along Kossuth Lajos utca lead guests to the front door.
