Cheap hotels in Downtown Chicago, Chicago
Downtown Chicago is west of Lake Michigan, north of the Riverwalk and south of North Avenue. The neighborhood provides easy access on foot to the Magnificent Mile (to its east) and Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park, which are both north of the neighborhood. The Chicago elevated train line, the El, runs through the middle of the neighborhood.
Notable nearby attractions include Ed Debevic's famous diner on West Ontario at North Wells Street. And, Rush Street has been known for its bars and restaurants since the 1960s. Northwestern University's Medical and Law Schools are also located here.
