Sharing a parking lot with Central Station, the Hotel Astoria is a hop, skip, and a jump from Tivoli Gardens. The hotel, which reopened in 2007 after a complete renovation, was designed by GUBI, the Danish design company that also created furniture for New York City's Museum of Modern Art.
The Hotel Astoria has also preserved some of its 1930s style, like its original revolving door entryway and a preserved room from the hotel's opening in 1935.
Rooms have sturdy walls (good news for those with noisy neighbors), a minibar, radio, cable television, and a self-regulating heater. Most bathrooms have a tub.
All guests have free access to the Astoria's swim centre and gym and also receive a discount at the hotel spa.
Breakfast is served each morning in the elegant dining room. And, we're not talking a mere continental breakfast here. Think fruits, vegetables, cheeses, cereal, breads, and an array of jams served in bowls; not in sticky little packets.

About the Hotel Astoria neighborhood
The Central Station & Tivoli area is home to many of Copenhagen's main attractions. Trains to and from the airport can be caught at the Central Station (Hovedbanegarden). Though the neighborhood is quite safe, it can seem dodgy at night, when it morphs into Copenhagen's Red Light District.
