Within Dijon's historic city center, you'll find the 13th-century Church of Notre Dame, the view-worthy Tower of Philippe le Bon and the Musée des Beaux-Arts. Rue de la Liberte and rue de Bourg are the main busy shopping streets.
Chartreuse de Champmol was a Carthusian monastery in the 15th-century. On the western outskirts of Dijon, and just south of the city's train station, the monastery's structural remains are now part of a hospital and the Jardin de l'Arquebuse. Most of the artistic works formerly housed in the cloister are less than a mile away in the Musee des Beaux-Arts (in the city's historic center). Parc des Carrieres Bacquin is also part of the neighborhood.
