The center of Dresden's Neustadt (New Town) is Albertplatz. The neighborhood is situated north of the Elbe River and is known for cozy side streets lined with bohemian pubs.
Here, the Hauptstrasse—a pedestrian walkway of shops leading from the Albertplatz to the Schlossplatz—spans a quarter mile and crosses the river into Old Town. The Saxony Tourism Association has an office in the neighborhood on Bautzner Strasse.
