The fully outfitted business-class Croke Park Hotel is often surprisingly inexpensive thanks to its event-dependent clientele. Located across the street from the Croke Park Arena in Dublin’s north, this four-star spot has just about everything a business or high-maintenance traveler could want: a restaurant, capacious ground-floor lounge, fitness room, meeting rooms and even a private guest-only lounge tucked away on an upper floor.

The hotel’s 232 guestrooms are perfectly nice if unremarkable. But if they are stylistically indistinct, they are set apart by their sheer size. These rooms are more reminiscent of U.S. hotel rooms than European hotel rooms. All are equipped with coffee and tea facilities, air conditioning, a television, safe and private bathroom.

The Croke Park Hotel is an unusual beast in that it’s strikingly inexpensive most of the time. During concerts, sporting events and official state visits, Cheapos should avoid it like the plague. But at other times of the year, it offers a standard of room for much, much less than the going rate elsewhere in Dublin.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and Wi-Fi is free throughout.
