Marian House is a cute, 16-room bed-and-breakfast situated among a cluster of similar little inns along Upper Gardiner Street. What sets Marian apart is the appealing garden out front, a wild and overgrown mess of seasonal flowers.
Inside, rooms tend to be compact. About half of the rooms have private bathrooms. Rooms are tidy, though a bit dreary, with orange, red, and yellow shades dominating. Interior rooms feature nice views of the backyard, which might, at the right angle, make you forget that you’re in a city.
