Mercer Hotel is a high quality business hotel with decent rates. It's an especially fine option for risk-averse travelers. Don't confuse Mercer Hotel with Mercer Court, the dormitory-cum-summer hotel also located on Lower Mercer Street.
Rooms are basically cookie-cutter corporate, with a faux-antiquey vibe predominant. Colonial furniture is spiced up by an orange-silver decorative pattern adorning bedspreads, curtains, and chair upholstery. Gilded mirrors and small writing desks complete the scene.
Mercer Hotel has just 41 rooms and feels cozy. Guests run the gamut from tourists to business peeps. During our visit we noticed lots of families with young kids hanging about. In terms of location, Mercer Hotel is well situated, just around the corner from St. Stephen's Green and a short stroll to Temple Bar and Trinity College.
