The EuroCheapo Newsletter
February 19, 2008 February is food month... and we're hungry! Not just for hotel values, either. We're licking our chops, thinking about bouillabaisse and bratwursts, paella and pizzas! Using EuroCheapo, you can afford to taste all of Europe's delights without winding up with indigestion when the check comes! Simply follow our recipe for a tasty and affordable trip to Europe... Step One: Find a hotel (near restaurants)
Using CheapoSearch, we found these great rates for our editors' favorite hotels, in late March*: 1) Athens: Amaryllis Near Omonia Square, 2-star hotel, Doubles: €48 2) Paris: Hotel du Commerce Latin Quarter, 3-star hotel, Doubles (shared bath): €49 3) Vienna: Dr. Geissler Innere Stadt, pension, Doubles (shared bath): €65 4) Stockholm: Wasa Park Hotel Vasastaden, pension, Doubles: €74 5) Prague: Jerome House Nove Mesto, 3-star hotel, Doubles: €84 *Prices and availability subject to change. Above rates are based on a CheapoSearch conducted on February 13th for March 20-22nd (2 guests). Step Two: Find tasty (and cheap) eats!
Tip: Wherever you're heading, ask the locals (receptionist, hotel owner, random guy on corner) for tips on affordable eats. For instance, London has undergone a gastro-awakening that has benefited the bellies, if not the wallets, of its diners. What's a Cheapo to do? Read our guide to cheap eats in London. Step Three: Identify this pizza! (optional)
![]() Okay, it's just this month's rather obscure "mystery photo." Take a guess: In which city did we find this pizza? Hint: Pies, pigeons, and pantomimes reign here. Answer Step Four: Feast away!
