Owned by Thomas Cook, Condor is a massive charter airline operation. Condor connects German airports to southern Europe, with a destination map that extends to Africa, Asia and the Americas. In 1971, Condor was the world's first leisure airline to use a Boeing 747 in its fleet. Note: Many of Condor's flights are essentially charter flights ferrying vacation package holders away or back home.

Upside

Great connections within Europe and beyond. Unlike other airlines, Condor usually allows reservation changes without the nasty fees.

Many routes are flown infrequently. Old planes.

Baggage

* Carry-on: One item, up to 6 kg, plus laptop.
* Checked: Limits vary according to length of trip, but you’re allowed between 20-30 kg of stuff. Excess baggage will be charged $11 per kg.

Seating

You can reserve seats in advance by paying €10 on one-way flights, €20 for returns. You can choose your seats online as soon as you book the flight. And, free seat reservations are always available for small children and the disabled.

Check-in and Ticketing

Online check-in is available for several German airports, excluding flights to the US and Canada.  It is available between 30 hours and 2 hours before departure.  It is available for passengers with and without checked bagged. 

Tip

In the event that you know you'll be lugging around much more than 20-30 kg, book a "baggage allowance package". Fees apply. For example, an extra 5 kilos will cost you anywhere from €23-37 depending on the flight.

To get your vacation off to a good start, Condor invites you  to have a welcome cocktail – a "heavenly delight". Choose from popular cocktails like vodka bitter lemon, gin tonic, Campari orange and from non-alcoholic beverages.

Departure: Linz, Austria - Blue Danube (LNZ)

The Blue Danube Airport in Linz, Austria is a smaller airport found at the foothills of the Alps. Visitors are able to relax and enjoy stunning views from the airport's main visitor terrace. Location: The airport is located just minutes outside of Linz, Austria’s city center. Transport: - Rail: From the east and west of Austria, Linz can be reached via the Westbahn (trains to and from Salzburg and Vienna every hour), from the south via the Pyhrnbahn and from the north via the Summerauerbahn. Connections from Linz main station to Hoersching station approximately every hour and the duration of the trip is roughly 10 minutes. All passengers arriving by train are invited to use the free shuttle service between Linz Airport and Hoersching station from 5 am-10 pm upon request. The transfer takes approximately 3 minutes. - Bus: Buses to and from the city center are available and only take a short amount of time (but it's always good to be safe and arrive a bit early). The bus stop at the Blue Danube Airport is in front of the arrival hall. - Taxi: Taxis are also available in front of the airport. Services: Cafes and snack bars offer a wide selection of items that make travelling a more pleasurable experience. A bank and cash machine are also conveniently located inside the airport. Arrival: Antalya, Turkey - Antalya (AYT)

Antalya, on the part of the Mediterranean coast known as the Turkish Riviera, is a very busy airport and a primary link to this popular coastal region. Antalya sees huge numbers of charter flights, which bump its flight volume up into one of the most popular in our survey. Location: The Antalya Airport is located 10 km (six miles) from the city center of Antalya. Transport: - Bus: Buses run between the airport and the city around a dozen times a day. Individual journeys cost YTL8.50 (€ 4.85; $7.15). - Taxi: Taxis operate from the Antalya airport to various tourist destinations at set rates. Taxis can be found outside the main terminal building. It is strongly advised to negotiate a fare before leaving the airport. Service: In the airport, there is an information desk, postal services, currency exchange, and ATMs and public telephones throughout.
