The laid-back and family-friendly Hotel Elite is a two-star charmer offering low rates and an convenient location near the Santa Maria Novella church.
The Elite’s 10 guest rooms are utilitarian and quiet, with simple and Ikea-esque furnishings. Colorful bedspreads are spunky, if a tad dated. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, a small television and free Wi-Fi. Large windows with rustic wooden shutters add character, especially as most face a pretty internal courtyard, while others offer stellar views of Santa Maria Novella.
The colorful bathrooms are surprisingly large, and feature curtained showers and standard amenities such as hair dryers. All are private, although some are located outside their corresponding rooms.
The same sweet mother/daughter/son trio in charge of the Elite also operates its another EuroCheapo pick, Hotel Desiree. Both properties are simple and dependable, but the Elite’s rooms are substantially smaller—and its rates substantially cheaper.

About the Hotel Pensione Elite neighborhood
Across the street from the train station, the area around Piazza Santa Maria Novella is perhaps the most varied neighborhood in the city. The dingier urban streets leading to the station get a lot of traffic while the other side of the grassy Piazza is quiet. Bordered by the river, the train station and the shopping street Via Tornabuoni, one thing is for sure: once you're here, you're no more than ten-minutes away from anything else.
