Situated on a quiet side street near the Frankfurt zoo, the Hotel Admiral is a competent budget hotel that combines a convenient location with residential tranquility. This three-star spot is a solid, if unremarkable, place to drop anchor for a night or two.
Each of the Hotel Admiral’s 50 guestrooms is equipped with a television, minibar and free Wi-Fi. A 2011 renovation afforded them new carpets or wood-laminate floors, but neglected the walls, which show some signs of age.
Luckily, the tiny private bathrooms, which feature white tiles and glassed-in showers, are spotless. Some rooms are equipped with bathtubs (ask ahead).
Aside from a few Russian and Thai shops, the Hotel Admiral’s street is quiet and residential, but you won’t need more than 20 minutes to get to the bustle of the Zeil (Frankfurt’s shopping mecca), whether you walk or take the tram. The hotel is within walking distance of numerous tram and subway stops.
A continental breakfast is sometimes included in the room rate (check when booking) and served in the 10-table breakfast room.

About the Admiral neighborhood
The main attraction in this neighborhood to the east of the city center is the Frankfurt zoo. The area is also home to many of the city’s theaters and music venues, as well as Ostbahnhof (east train station). From here, it’s not far to walk to the city center.
