Situated at the juncture of several street car lines, the no-frills Hotel Continental is affordable and convenient, if not exactly quiet. This is no luxurious resort—from simple lobby to aging elevator, things at the Hotel Continental are tight—but the three-star property is a strong contender for the unfussy urban adventurer.
The Hotel Continental’s 77 cramped rooms are enshrined in aged curtains and carpets. Standard hotel furniture crowds the tight quarters, but wooden paneling adds some character. All rooms are equipped with a television and phone, and their private bathrooms are dated but spotless.
We’ll be honest, this isn’t a place to linger. Think of the Hotel Continental as a budget airline: If you want breakfast, you’ll pay €8 extra, and Wi-Fi is another €9 per day. But for those okay with simple, this is a cheap hotel, and, although they don’t go out of their way kiss up, its efficient staff members are helpful when you approach them.

About the Hotel Continental neighborhood
This neighborhood situated to the southwest of the city center is home to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, the main train station, where there is a branch of the tourist office. The Jewish Museum is found here, as well as the city’s only English-language theater. From Bahnhofsviertel, it is a short walk to other tourist sights in the city center.
