The swank Hotel Europa Style is the flashy sibling of another EuroCheapo pick, the Hotel Europa Life. The two share the same competent staff and conveniently located building, but where the Europa Life is quite basic, the four-star Europa Style steps it up. Rates at the Hotel Europa Style are, of course, higher, but there are still deals to be had here.

The Hotel Europa Style’s renovated guestrooms are so spanking new that the staff member showing us around took off his shoes upon entering. Plush white beds pop against chocolate hardwood floors, and all rooms are fully outfitted with air conditioning, soundproof windows, a flat-screen TV, phone, mini-fridge and minibar.

The black-and-white bathrooms are equally sleek, and equipped with a luxurious cascade showerhead and immaculate porcelain sink.

Mr. Gill, the laid-back manager of both the Europa Life and Europa Style, is a friendly gentleman who clearly cares about his guests.

The only overkill at the Europa Style is the tiny elevator, fitted with mood lighting that changes from one shrill color to another at seizure-inducing speeds.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and Wi-Fi is free throughout.
