Travellers Home (or "Matkamajoitus," as it's known in Finnish) offers fully-furnished guest apartments in the super-central Kamppi neighborhood. If you're looking for a comfortable space to call your own, the cheap rates and great location make this a solid bet. However, if you expect around-the-clock reception and extra frills, move on to the next review.
Here's the deal: Travellers Home has six apartments, not all within the same building but all within the Kamppi area, that are equipped with cooking facilities, small private bathrooms, and a few touches that make the place feel like a (temporary) home. There's a radio, a coffee and tea maker, a small kitchen table, and the modern flower-shaped lamp we've seen in every trend-conscious corner of Scandinavia. We appreciate the hodgepodge of artwork and mirrors thrown in: While not particularly inspired, they at least attempt to liven up the apartments.
Most of the apartments are studios and have a loft-style raised bed in addition to a floor-level one. One apartment has room for six guests, though most are meant for single or double occupancy. Overall, at €85 a night for a two-person apartment, Travellers Home is a Cheapo win in our book.
