The Hotel Avenida Parque, located along the eastern edge of the Parque Eduardo, provides three-star hotel comforts at a reasonable price.
The hotel's renovated marble lobby gives off a swanky first impression and its gorgeous original wooden staircase continues to elevate expectations. However, rooms are more straightforward, with attractive green and red-flecked décor and understated wood furnishings. Baths are newly renovated, with pretty blue linoleum and white wall tiles. It's a tidy, tasteful place.
We especially like the hotel's parkside location. The Avenida Sidónio Pais forms the park's eastern border and gets far less traffic than the western side. We'd suggest asking for a room facing the park.
