The no-frills Pensão Prata, centrally located in Baixa, is perfect for young, easy-going Cheapos. The pension offers 12 clean rooms with and without private facilities, at really cheap prices.

The Santos family operates the pension, which is located on the third floor of an apartment building at the busy corner of Rua da Prata and Rua da Conceição. Downside: traffic zooms by at all hours, making a lot of noise.

Rooms are simply furnished with plain furniture, hardly any amenities, and '70s-era bathrooms. That's about it. Windows aren't soundproofed. Guests can relax in the Prata's family-style TV lounge. And that's that.
