One of our several Sussex Garden listings, the Abbey Court Hotel provides three-star comfort and a breezy location minutes from Hyde Park.
Pros: Comfortable, reliable rooms. Excellent location. Unique lobby with a fountain.
Cons: Basement rooms are stuffy and dim. Dated décor.
The Abbey Court, which has slowly incorporated neighboring buildings into its property, offers 45 rooms which are more functional than aesthetically beautiful. The floral bedspreads and blonde wardrobes are standard hotel fare. Each room is equipped with a coffee maker, TV, phone and private bathroom with a hair dryer.
We recommend asking for a room in the main hotel area, as there are a few in the basement that are less appealing.
The Abbey Court's lobby is bustling with activity—and some interesting décor. Along with a gurgling, Grecian-esque fountain, there are also a number of bronze and marble statues.
There is no Wi-Fi, but there is a free Internet station in the lobby. A self-serve breakfast buffet is available each morning for an extra charge.

About the Abbey Court Hotel (Hyde Park) neighborhood
Although the area surrounding Paddington Station is situated in Bayswater, we’ve set it aside as its own neighborhood, as it’s packed with (mostly uninspiring) budget hotels. Paddington Station is one of London’s major transportation hubs, and the Heathrow Express departs from here every 15 minutes during peak hours.
