The Cherry Court Hotel is a real deal. For £55-65 a night you get a comfortable en suite room with air-conditioning in a Victorian building that's a five-minute walk from Victoria Station. That's right. Your heard us correctly: AC! When's the last time you found that at a London B&B?
The wonderful Mrs. Aruna Patel and her husband Vipin are at the helm of this family-run joint, situated on a charming side street off monotonous Belgrave Road. Rooms are simple. There's nothing very elegant to the decor, and furniture and amenities are basic. But they are clean with new bedding.
There's a small deck in the backyard with trees overhead, some patio furniture, and a fountain -- the perfect place for sitting with a good book on those rare but enchanting sunny London summer days. Guests can borrow travel guides and books in the lobby. Breakfast comes in the form of a fruit basket with a pack of biscuits, orange juice, and cereal bar, so lovers of the standard fry up will have to dine elsewhere. Not to worry, Mrs. Patel can give you the lowdown on local restaurants and pubs.
The Cherry Court is popular. We suggest reserving in advance.
