The Ibis London Euston, conveniently located minutes north of Euston Station and the University of London, provides top-notch two-star rooms filled with convenient amenities at an exceptional price. You won't find the charm or spirit of a small British bed and breakfast, but the Ibis is for those looking to pass on that experience.
As we've noted elsewhere on EuroCheapo when we've recommend Ibis hotels (Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, and Munich), EuroCheapo does not normally like to promote big-box corporate chain hotels. Our mission is to help our readers find independent budget hotels around Europe and to maximize their cultural experience by experiencing a hotel that reflects the local culture. This isn't the Ibis. But the Ibis is a helluva deal, however, and we'd feel we were doing a disservice by not mentioning it as a budget-friendly option. Sometimes, after all, you just want a predictable room!
And the Ibis offers predictability. The reception is attractive in a late 90s 'casual corporate' kind of way, with pleasing carpets and walls, plants, seating areas, and a food court that's always open. The hotel offers almost every amenity on our list, from elevators to wireless Internet access and parking. The friendly receptionists smile, speak many languages, and are impressively efficient.
Upstairs, the peaches-and-cream rooms are identical to other Ibises we've visited with air-conditioning (some with only an 'air cooling' system), soundproofed windows, satellite TV, and telephone. Beds are fine, and coordinate with the built-in table and shelving areas.
The whopping 380 rooms look out onto the street or onto a sunny, gravel courtyard. Some facilities have bathtubs, most offer showers, and all are fresh and functional. The Ibis also has a corporate-wide '15-minute guarantee' that promises all requests will be dealt with promptly, or else!

About the Ibis London Euston neighborhood
Situated north of Piccadilly Circus and the West End, leafy Bloomsbury is famous as the former headquarters of the bohemian writing clique known as the Bloomsbury Group. The charming neighborhood is centered around Russell Square and boasts the British Museum, University of London, and Georgian townhouse-lined streets. Budget-friendly B&Bs line Gower Street, just west of the University, easily accessible to the rest of the central city. This is London at its most charming and, arguably, most literary.
