If you want to stay near Victoria Station, then the Luna & Simone is your best bet. The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from Victoria Station and a few blocks from the Pimlico Tube Station.
From the moment we walked into the lobby, we could tell the Luna & Simone Hotel was different from most of its neighbors. This 36-room, completely nonsmoking hotel has clean, comfortable facilities, cheerful ambiance, and a very helpful staff. It's truly a breath of fresh air on a street predominantly populated with dreary and unloved hotels. And the price is right, too.
Built in the mid-1800s, the Luna & Simone was originally two separate houses that were later combined into an apartment building. During our visit, the receptionist obliged us with a list of the former owners, which included some rather amusing names, including the "Dowager Lady 'Dame' Jane Eliza Gordon-Cumming" and "The Misses Vick." However, only the Luna & Simone's exterior bears any resemblance to its Victorian past. The interior has been modernized through and through.
Rooms are simply decorated with fresh bedding, clean carpets, small closets, and framed posters of modern art. There's nothing particularly stylish about them, but they are well lit and cheerful with new furnishings. All but two of the rooms have toilets en suite. Bathrooms are sparkling clean with tiled floors and walls. The breakfast room is likewise the picture of tidiness with furnishings and not a speck of dirt on the walls or floors.
