The comfortable and clean Hostal Acapulco sports a beachin' location. OK, it's not exactly beachin'—as Madrid is indeed rather far from the sea—but the Acapulco is just minutes from the bustle of the Gran Via, and we find that pretty darn cool.
Fully equipped with hotel-worthy amenities, this three-star hostal is just as welcoming and colorful as the sunset mural painted on the lobby walls. The 16 blush-colored rooms are adorned with attractive faux orchids, marble floors, and open onto charming balconies on a quiet street.
It's all the little details, from the star-spangled shower curtains to the super friendly staff, that make any day at the Acapulco a sunshiny one. Say "hello" to Ana at reception (and help yourself to one of the tasty mints at the front desk!).

About the Hostal Acapulco neighborhood
The Puerta del Sol is the geographic and historic center of old Madrid, within walking distance of most of central Madrid's tourist offerings. Calle Mayor, a major commercial and business street, runs to the west of Puerta del Sol, and to the south are tiny, dense streets packed with tapas bars, restaurants and cafés. Many of Madrid's best hotels are on the Puerta del Sol, while pensions can be found along the side streets.
