Located between Puerta de Sol and El Museo Prado, the three-star Hostal Lisboa is a real bang-for-your-buck kind of place. It's true: The decor could use some work. However, the Lisboa is certainly clean and comfortable, thanks to José Luis, the friendly proprietor.
Rooms are generally comfortable and well put together, with spacious bathrooms and soundproofed windows. Of the 25 rooms, 11 face the street. The lobby, though small, boasts its own NesCafe machine(!)—perfect for those rough morning revivals and late afternoon pick-me-ups.
