Located on a pretty, cobblestone street just a short walk from the Duomo, the intimate Hotel Rovello has a clean, Tuscan country house vibe. Enter through a quaint courtyard and into the hotel’s lobby, a warm, silent space with low lights and wood beamed ceilings. Mix this with the sweet, attentive staff and there’s no end to the rustic, homey welcome here.

The hotel’s ten rooms are amply spaced, and decorated in warm tones of green, gold and terra-cotta red. Furnishings are simple in medium and dark wood, and bed covers are plush.

Bathrooms are as spacious as the bedrooms (several of them have an anti-chamber leading to the actual bathroom, a dream as far as European hotels go). Appliances are new.

The Rovello is geared toward triples, and these big babies start at €150, which isn’t bad at all for a central location and authentic (Tuscan vibe included) charm.
