The four-star Hotel Portello, a member of the Minihotel chain, offers 96 recently renovated rooms located between the Lotto and Fiera-Amendola Metro stops. When we visited the hotel, we got a friendly and formal vibe from the reception, and witnessed several smiling guests coming and going.
Rooms are brand spankin’ new, with blue carpet and crème-colored bed spreads. The design scheme includes wavy headboards, round-backed chairs and half-moon bedside tables that seem to sprout from the wall. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning.
Bathrooms are rather spectacular, with floor-to-ceiling wood paneling that feels airy and clean. The hotel offers laundry service for an extra charge.
The Fiera is a five-minute walk from the Portello.

About the Hotel Portello by Convention Centre - Gruppo MiniHotel neighborhood
The mammoth Fiera exhibition space dominates this otherwise residential neighborhood to the northwest of Milan’s city center. It won’t come as a surprise that the hotels in this neighborhood tend to be business class—and their rates can skyrocket, especially during convention season (March/April and September/October).
