Located north of the very center of Munich, the Hotel Antares' 49 rooms are located on a quiet side street. The family-run establishment is part of the Renner hotel chain, which operates four hotels in Munich.
Housed in a nondescript, gray post-war building, Antares' rooms feature that once-fresh red/orange pairing. Nowadays, this palette seems a bit dated, but sort of cool in an unknowingly retro manner. Rooms are unambitious but perfectly serviceable. We especially like the red highlights of the dark wood bedframe units.
Antares is a good choice for families and more mature guests who prefer a quiet location over being in the hub of activity. Located close to the U-Bahn and even closer to some cute upscale cafes, Antares is a reliable option. Make note that its reception is only open until 11 p.m., and the hotel's Internet is expensive, so you might want to find an Internet café.
The hotel offers an ample breakfast buffet, complete with Prosecco.
