Since 1975, Hotel Wallis's 54 rooms have been enticing a varied crowd, including plenty of Americans, to its central, Bahnhof Sud location. What attracts value-hungry Yanks to Hotel Wallis? Why the "Bavarian" rooms of course. In this case, "Bavarian" simply means a few pseudo-rococo flourishes here and there, brought to aesthetic life in the form of antique reproductions. Can't you just hear the dirndl-clad M䤣hen yodeling from across the forested valleys? Isn't that a dashing stranger outfitted in lederhosen popping in for tea?
We don't mean to be sarcastic. The Wallis's kitsch is high-quality, not trashy. We actually really dig the Wallis. Its rates are great for the level of comfort it provides. Plus, rooms at the Wallis are spankingly clean and its staff is super friendly and accommodating. The "Bavarian" rooms are a little overwrought for our personal taste, but when low rates and a great location converge like they do at Hotel Wallis, we won't whine.
