With 68 rooms, a Central Station locale, and a bubbly staff, the three-star Hotel Mirabell is a cheap and cheerful pick in the middle of Munich.
Rooms are basic, though some extras (including fridges, irons, and fans) are available on demand. The white walls give the rooms a clean, if somewhat sterile, look. Bathrooms are quite standard, bright, and tidy.
The breakfast room is covered in kitschy seasonal figurines, but the effect is charming and cheerful. Cheapos will appreciate the free bicycle rentals and free parking offered by the hotel (an uncommon extra).

About the Mirabell neighborhood
The blocks south of the Hauptbahnhof, or main train station, feature a staggering number of hotels. Many of Munich's sex shops can also be found here, as well as shopping, restaurants, bars and cafés. Stadtmitte is also nearby and very well served by public transportation.
